The H.O.G.® Madrid Chapter vest

The H.O.G.® Madrid Chapter vest identifies its active members and represents both the Chapter and Makinostra, our sponsoring dealership. Wearing it is not mandatory but, if you choose to wear it, you must do so in an appropriate, responsible and respectful way.
Until July 2026 there were no specific Madrid Chapter guidelines on its use. Following the uniformity recommendations of H.O.G.® EMEA and in response to questions raised by new members, this guide has been established with the aim of unifying criteria and clarifying how the Chapter's vest, patches and insignia should be used.

What it represents

Wearing the vest indicates that you are an active member of the H.O.G.® Madrid Chapter and that you keep both your H.O.G.® membership and your Chapter fee up to date.

Out of respect for the other members, vests bearing the Madrid Chapter insignia should not be worn by anyone who does not currently belong to the Chapter, even if they are the partner or friend of a member, or belonged to it in the past.

When you wear it, you publicly represent the Madrid Chapter and Makinostra. You are therefore expected to behave responsibly and in line with the Chapter's values. Avoid using it in inappropriate situations or during actions that could harm the image of the Chapter, the dealership or its members. Our image is everyone's responsibility.

When you take part in an activity organised by the Madrid Chapter, you do so as a member of the Madrid Chapter. If you decide to wear a vest during that activity, it must be the Madrid Chapter vest, with its official insignia, and not that of another Chapter, association or club.

How it should be worn

The vest must display the official image of the H.O.G.® Madrid Chapter visibly and correctly. The established layout is as follows:

Left chest: small H.O.G.® eagle, with the small Madrid Chapter rocker above it. Optionally, an inverted rocker with the member's name may be added below the eagle.
On the front of the vest (either side): the Chapter number and, below it, the official seniority patch, where applicable.
Back: large H.O.G.® eagle, with the large Madrid Chapter rocker above it.
Other patches: may be placed freely, provided they respect the rules on this page and do not interfere with the Chapter's official identification. It is common to line up affiliation patches one below the other. For those made up of a main patch plus added “whiskers” — such as Mileage, NHC or similar — the whiskers go below the main patch.

This arrangement makes it possible to clearly identify membership of H.O.G.® as an international organisation and of the Madrid Chapter as the local Chapter. Modified versions, reinterpretations or alternative designs of its official elements must not be used.

Vests made before July 2026 will not have to change their large back patches or rearrange the rest to adapt to this layout. However, from July 2026 onwards, new vests must follow these guidelines.

This exception does not apply to the elements expressly prohibited on this page, which must also be removed or corrected on older vests.

Official patches and insignia

The official Madrid Chapter patches and insignia are intended exclusively for its active members. The items available for purchase are requested through Makinostra, our sponsoring dealership.

Annual patch or “whisker”: handed out by the board with the annual registration or renewal, it certifies membership of the Chapter for the corresponding year.
Chapter rocker or “banana”: not included in the fee; they can be purchased separately at Makinostra. Only the gold version is sold and it must be combined with the H.O.G.® eagle.
H.O.G.® eagle: part of the Chapter's official image, it must be used combined with the rocker, always in its original colours: brown, black, white and gold. It can be purchased at Makinostra.
Chapter number: the patch with the official Madrid Chapter number, #9209, is handed out by the board upon the first membership renewal.
Seniority: awarded when renewing your membership once you have completed the number of consecutive years of membership shown on the patch. It must be placed below the Chapter number. Currently, the only official patch available is the “10 YEARS” one, and no other versions are allowed.
Officer patches: these patches are handed out by the Chapter director to members who officially hold a position. They must be placed above the small Madrid Chapter rocker. They must be removed or painted black when the member no longer holds the position.

To confirm availability, we recommend contacting the Makinostra staff or the board before going to the store. Only active members may purchase and wear the official patches, whether on vests, jackets or other garments.

Elements that are not allowed

Patches, symbols or messages expressing political, religious, sporting or activist affiliations must not be used on the vest, nor elements linked to groups in conflict with or opposed to the Madrid Chapter. H.O.G.® international does not allow the use of MC support patches.

Patches, emblems or messages that breach the Chapter's rules of respect and coexistence, that may be offensive or that may harm the image of the Madrid Chapter, of Makinostra or of its members are not allowed either.

A single large rocker must be worn on the back, corresponding to the member's main Chapter. If you belong to more than one Chapter, the others may be represented by small rockers, provided the rules of those Chapters allow it.

It is not allowed to use the H.O.G.® eagle, the rockers or the Madrid Chapter insignia in colours other than the original ones, even if such versions can be found on sale in shops or outlets related to H.O.G.®.

Patches that have not been legitimately awarded or earned must not be worn either. Patches with a special meaning for the Chapter are handed out when appropriate and cannot be bought, transferred, reproduced or made on one's own initiative.

Made-up or unofficial designs

It is not allowed to design, commission, manufacture, sell, give away or distribute patches, insignia or emblems that copy, modify, imitate or could be confused with the official elements of the H.O.G.® Madrid Chapter, even if they are presented as a joke, a tribute or a play on words.

The words “Madrid Chapter”, or equivalent names or variants, may not be used in your own designs without the express authorisation of the board.

The Chapter's visual identity — including its name, rockers, eagles, insignia and other representative elements — is exclusive. Only designs authorised and distributed through the channels established by Makinostra or by the Chapter itself are considered official.

All Chapter merchandising — including flags, stickers and any other item — is produced exclusively by the board or by Makinostra. Producing it independently is not allowed.

Insignia on other items

The rules on this page are not limited to the vest. They also apply to keyrings, pins, stickers, garments, accessories and any other object or medium. The format used does not exempt you from complying with the rule when the content or appearance contradicts its purpose.

This includes, among others, stickers, vinyl and decorative elements on the motorcycle, helmet, saddlebags or other equipment when taking part in Chapter activities or displaying a link to it. Like the rest of the Chapter's merchandising, these elements may only come from the board or from Makinostra.

Messages, symbols or affiliations contrary to these rules must not be used, nor elements that could be confused with the official identity of the Madrid Chapter or that could harm its image.
