1. Definitions
A cookie is a file that is downloaded to your computer when you access certain web pages, or to your smartphone, tablet or similar device. Cookies allow a website, among other things, to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their device and, depending on the information they contain and the way the device is used, they can be used to recognise the user.
The user's browser stores cookies on the hard drive only during the current session, taking up minimal memory space and causing no harm to the computer. Cookies do not contain any kind of specific personal information, and most of them are deleted from the hard drive at the end of the browser session (so-called session cookies).
2. What types of cookies does this website use?
This website only uses the technical cookies it needs to work. It uses no analytics, advertising or social media cookies, so it does not need to ask for your consent.
| Cookie | Owner | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| PHPSESSID | madridchapter.com | Keeps your session while you browse and, in the members area, while you are logged in. | Until the browser is closed |
| lang_hint | madridchapter.com | Remembers that you already chose a language, so the notice offering another language is not shown again. It is only stored if you click one of its options. | 1 year |
| cookie_consent | madridchapter.com | Stores your cookie choice if you are ever asked for it. | 180 days |
YouTube and Vimeo videos
Some pages contain videos. They are shown in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and with Vimeo's "do not track" option, which set no cookies until you play the video, and the player is only loaded when you scroll near it. Once played, the privacy policy of each service applies.
Links to other websites
Links to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, the dealer's website or Kilómetros X Investigar take you to sites with their own cookie policies.
3. Disabling cookies
As only technical cookies are used, there is nothing to enable or disable on this website. You can delete or block them from your browser settings, although the members area will then stop working; for example:
- Chrome: browser help
- Firefox: browser help
- Safari: browser help
- Edge: browser help
4. Updates to the cookie policy
We may update the Cookie Policy of our website; we therefore recommend that you review this policy each time you access our website in order to be properly informed about how and why we use cookies.
