Every Kilometer Counts

Harley-Davidson España celebrates its solidarity week 'Cada km. cuenta' which will take place from March 18 to 23 in all its official dealerships in Spain, with the aim of contributing to research to combat childhood cancer. Harley-Davidson España challenges all motorcyclists, owners of motorcycles of any brand, to ride kilometers of hope in benefit of the Pulseras Candela association to fight against this disease that is diagnosed in 1,200 children in Spain every year.

The motorcyclist who rides the most kilometers will be the protagonist of the donation of 2,000 euros that Harley-Davidson will make in benefit of Pulseras Candela. This action adds to the collaboration of the American brand's subsidiary with this charitable association, through which Harley-Davidson España offers its network of official dealerships in the national territory to collect donations through the distribution of its solidarity Candelas.

All those who wish to participate in 'Cada km. cuenta' to collaborate in this good cause only need to register in advance on the website www.harleydavidson.es. Once pre-registration is done, it is enough to go to the nearest official dealership during the solidarity week to indicate the initial mileage, and from there hit the road to cover kilometers of hope in favor of this initiative, which culminates with the final number of kilometers that must also be certified at the dealership.

In addition, 'Cada km. cuenta' will hold a raffle every day among all participants in this solidarity action. Registered motorcyclists who visit any dealership will receive a participation code to enter the raffle for a genuine Harley-Davidson® item.

In short, the number of kilometers to be covered during 'Cada km. cuenta' and the way to do them is completely free. It is about enjoying this great rideout to the fullest where riding on two wheels and solidarity come together in a totally festive atmosphere.

Pulseras Candela has contributed 1,450,000 € to research against childhood cancer in 4 years.

The story of Pulseras Candela began in mid-2013, with Candela, a girl hospitalized for leukemia at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona. To fill the long hours she spent in the hospital, a volunteer taught her to make bracelets with colored threads. Shortly after, two of her friends decided to name the bracelets after Candela and had the idea of setting up a stand in their town to raise money for childhood cancer research.

This idea was a complete success and soon all the children on the oncology and hematology floor, friends, and family got involved in making bracelets to help them. And in four years, Pulseras Candela has become a national solidarity association that has taken its bracelets around the world, contributing 1,450,000 euros to childhood cancer research at both national and international levels.

In this sense, Pulseras Candela has centers, associations, and volunteers spread throughout Spain who, with their solidarity involvement weaving and investing in materials and time, combine efforts to promote research against childhood cancer. Likewise, Pulseras Candela is participating in research to combat leukemia in children in Europe and Latin American countries.
