Wheels and Waves

Wheels and Waves is a 5-day event taking place between France and Spain, hosted at the W&W Village located in the City of the Ocean in Biarritz.

Set in a unique location by the sea, the mountains, and the city, a festival where the worlds of surfing, motorcycling, skateboarding, and art come together to give way to adventure, creativity, and passion! 

In addition to being a visitor, you can participate in Wheels and Waves as a rider / surfer / skater. Open to both beginners and experienced riders.

Basque Country

• GET LOST – Countless getaways you can experience alone or with others, each returning to the village, filled with stories, with your head full of images and memories… Whether you are 1, 2, 4… Organize your trip freely following the suggested rides. On the road, over the land, disappearing down back roads, what would Wheels and Waves be without its “Rides” through the endless landscapes and curves of the Basque Country… 

VILLAGE W&W

City of the Ocean, Biarritz

• EXHIBITION – Travel, discover or rediscover the Basque Country and park your vehicle inside the W&W Village. Come and take your bike out whenever you want. Enjoy and be free!
• Criteria: PRE-1975, POST 1975 Custom.

PUNKS PEAK – 12/06

Jaizkibel

SPRINT RACE: become a rider of Punk's Peak. At the top of Mount Jaizkibel, between the sea and the mountains, you will race 400 meters flat. Open to beginners and experienced riders.

• 1 award ceremony in the Village of Hondarribia

TROTL: THE RACE OF THE LORDS

• SAND RACE: Become a rider in THE RACE OF THE LORDS. Race on a sand track... A round trip sprint of 300 meters (PRE-1950 BIKE and PRE-1975 BIKE). Open to beginners and experienced riders. On a 300 m sand track, with a standing start and a turnaround halfway through the race, 2 riders compete with their machines in the purest tradition of sand races organized by American soldiers at the end of World War II.

VINTAGE WAW RALLY – 14/06

Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle

• ENDURO – Become a rider of WAW VINTAGE RALLY. Fun and adventure guaranteed for this vintage enduro in Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle. The WAW VINTAGE RALLY, an enduro experience exclusively for bikes prior to 1995. The endurance race, a moment eagerly awaited by spectators and competitors, often dressed in extravagant outfits, perfectly summarizes the spirit of Wheels and Waves that “everyone can be part of the event!”.

THE ROLLO – 15/06

San Sebastián Racecourse

• DIRT TRACK – Become a rider of El Rollo. Master the drift without a front brake and with a metal sole and try to win the different rounds. The El Rollo Dirt Track experience is now inseparable from Wheels and Waves. A very popular discipline across the Atlantic, El Rollo has already been associated with the calendar of the DTRA European Championship. Open to novice and experienced riders.

DUO LOG – Every day

La Milady Beach, Biarritz

• SURF CONTEST: Become a surfer in the Duo Log Surf Contest and ride the waves in Old School mode at La Milady Beach. Competitions will be determined according to weather conditions.

HIT THE DECK

Village W&W

• SKATE CONTEST: become a skater in the HIT THE DECK skate contest, show what you’ve got, perform your best tricks in a boiling atmosphere. The youngest discipline in many ways within the festival, it would be unthinkable to experience Wheels and Waves without skateboarding thanks to the living god Steve Caballero, a member of the great W&W family.

ARTRIDE – 13/06 Opening party 17H30

Skatepark Biarritz

• EXHIBITION – Become an exhibitor at the Artride exhibition showcasing your exceptional vehicle and/or your artistic projects (photographs, paintings…). A place of expression, special attention will be given to artists from around the world dedicated to motorcycling, photography, street art, custom, painting, making the exhibition a unique place of communion widely disseminated.
